Here are our top 5 Buffalo Trace bourbons that we highly recommended trying!
Â
1. Buffalo Trace Bourbon: This is the entry level and flagship bourbon of the distillery and is a great introduction to the brand. It has a smooth and balanced flavour profile with notes of caramel, vanilla, and oak.
Â
2. Eagle Rare Bourbon: This bourbon is aged for 10 years and has a rich and complex flavour profile with notes of toffee, dark fruit, and oak. It has won numerous awards is a personal favourite of mine due to being my first introduction to the Buffalo Trace brand.
3. Blanton’s Bourbon: This bourbon is known for its unique bottle design and is a single barrel bourbon, meaning each bottle comes from a single barrel. It has a rich and spicy flavour profile with notes of caramel, vanilla, and oak. While this isn’t too difficult to find here in Australia, it is becoming increasingly difficult to find in other parts of the world including in its country of origin, America.
4. Stagg Jr. Bourbon: This bourbon is a high-proof, barrel-strength bourbon that is aged for 8-9 years. It has a bold and intense flavour profile with notes of dark chocolate, espresso, and oak. This is becoming incredibly sought after and starting to become difficult to find but well and truly worth the hunt!
Â
5. Weller Antique 107 Bourbon: This bourbon is a wheated bourbon, meaning it uses wheat instead of rye in the mash bill. It has a smooth and sweet flavour profile with notes of caramel, honey, and cinnamon. It is also a great value for its quality. While this is quite difficult to come by in Australia, here at Last Call Liquor, we pride ourselves in finding these difficult to find bottles to save you the leg work.
